Well, we had a bit of an adventure, tonight. Got a call from my Mother's dentist about 4:45 to come and pick her up. She was in for a cleaning and they kept her leaning back so long - removing on a bit of cement from previous work - that when they sat her back up she almost fainted. I said I'd be there in about ten minutes.

Apparently she seriously spooked them, because while I was on my way they also called 911. *I* was a bit spooked when I got to the office and saw the ambulance.

Mother was very pale and very nauseous. She accused me of giving her the bug I've been fighting. After first saying she would ride to hospital (just four blocks from the dentist's) with me, she suddenly changed her mind and had the paramedics take her. I followed.

We got her checked in quickly, but everything after that went slowly. After a couple of hours there they decided to treat her nausea with anti-nausea medication. After another couple of hours the doctor got the test results back and decided the dentist had just let her up too fast. She was still dizzy, but the nausea was gone and her vitals were strong, so they sent her home. She's cleared to stay by herself tonight.

One complication: As we were walking out one of her IV sticks (one for in, one for out, 'cause they had a horrible time getting enough blood from the first stick and decided to used it for input while they took more blood from her other arm) started bleeding. She had to be wrapped around the arm and watched for a few minutes.

After I got her home, I took a neighbor to get her car, followed the neighbor back to Mother's, then came home.

Finally eating supper; leftover homemade beef barley soup. :-)
