Missing the Obvious

I had a bit of amusement during my annual physical, yesterday. I would complain about some ache and my doctor - who is ten to fifteen years younger than me - would say "You're fifty years old. That's normal." Then he'd ask if the pain in my hip was causing any loss in flexibility and I'd bend over and put my palms flat on the floor. "Wish I could do that."

Then, after my hearing test he proclaimed that my hearing was better than his.

So, here's a guy in his thirties who is admitting he's not in as good a shape as a guy in his fifties. After chastising the guy in his fifties for expecting to not be in pain and have other problems. :-)

I'm in great health for someone who's miserable a large part of the time.
