Got the new iMac in yesterday, and spent a relatively quick time setting it up. Physically. (I note that the teeny-tiny wireless keyboard will be replaced as soon as I can order another good one from tactilepro.)

However, the migration - copying over applications, data files and settings - took until after 4: 20 AM. That is, I got up a little after 4, saw it was wanting a password for some keychain I had never heard of, finally gave up trying to find one it would accept and cancel and letting the process continue, then going back to bed.

Today, it was turned off when I got up. It booted successfully, with the only fault messages for some applications no longer supported (yet it migrated at least two successfully putting their icons in the Dock) an error message about an app which seems to be working perfectly, and a warning that Parallels was too big to copy.

Still have to set up network ID and password, and set a few preferences (the migration turned off the wireless function, so I had to dig out a USB mouse and keyboard before I could log in) and I'll (hopefully) be finished.
