Tired and Aggravated
Feb. 17th, 2013 11:03 pmI am exhausted. I recently completed the long \t\h\r\e\a\t\e\n\e\d promised Gifted Saga novel - _The Magic Unleashed_ - and planned to submit it to Baen today. Propitiously, this month's edition of Market Maven arrived in my e-mail, giving me another publisher to submit _In Myths and Dreams_ to.
That second novel went through the publisher's online submission process easily. I had already done most of the work on cover letter and synopsis for previous submissions. Just put it all together in an e-mail and send (the synopsis and novel as an attachment).
However, when I went to write the cover letter for _Magic_ TextEdit balked at saving. No error messages; it just wouldn't save the short .RTF file! (I used to love TextEdit, but the version with Lion is so unworkable I am >this< close to uninstalling it!) I even tried saving a duplicate. No joy. It eventually crashed. Two restarts later, it finally - on the first try - did exactly the same thing it wouldn't do at all before. I completed the submission, and already have the acknowledgements from both publishers.
I also planned to send back out a short story, a novella and another fantasy novel today, but I'm too tired now. I'll get to those (I hope) tomorrow.
