Feb. 15th, 2009 01:28 pmI spent entirely too much at the gun show yesterday. I received and paid for a custom holster I contracted two months ago. Bought some gifts for upcoming birthdays. (Gun shows are great places to find such wares as hand-crafted leather goods, tough nylon range bags (which are good for many things besides firearms and their accessories) and knives.) I was sitting with some friends, talking, and feeling satisfied I hadn't spent more, when a friend of one of my friends arrived with a gun I've been coveting.
I was interested in the .32 Magnum when it came out several years ago, but it never really took off. When the .327 Magnum (which uses a slightly longer case than the .32 Magnum but is otherwise identical, so can take it and all the other cartridges guns chambered for it can take) was announced a few months back I was even more interested, but hadn't seen one outside a magazine. This guy had a Charter Arms Patriot in stainless steel, in the original box with the original papers, very slightly used, for a good price. And he took a check.
So, I'll put off having one of my H&K P7s refinished for a month or two. Meanwhile, I need to test fire this, and if I like it buy some more ammo, and maybe a set of reloading dies...
