Just heard about a bill going through the US Congress which proponents claim addresses the privacy of Internet users. By allowing the government to look at anything they want, any time, without a warrant or permission. (Yeah, nothing new, but this is the current folly in this field.)

As usual, our collective legislators are ignoring the concerns of the voters and taking actions which will alienate and outrage the people who are complaining about the problem. Excuse me, but when did government police agencies earn the vote?

My Mother apparently thinks house roofs are made of something like glass. The whole time I was sweeping the remains of tree reproductive efforts off it yesterday afternoon she was yelling up to me to not make it leak or step down through it. Meanwhile, I'm trying to finish at least the back and one side before the rain gets the stuff too wet to sweep off, fighting for balance and traction...
