Chaos Machine
Apr. 25th, 2007 06:43 pmI have long lusted after these, and finally bought one. It arrived via UPS yesterday. I've spent a large part of today - in several installments - putting it together.
For those unfamiliar, these are kinetic sculpture kits you can assemble in an infinite variety of ways. Yellow balls of hard plastic are lifted on a chain belt and then proceed to run a gauntlet of ramps, curved, loops, bounces and spins, often ringing bells or performing other tasks on the way.
I just got my first recirculation setup going. It still needs some fine tuning; there's about a 20% loss rate per cycle. It's also pretty straightforward and simple. (Well, I just started.)
I'm having fun! :-)
