Another Death in the Family

stickmakerMy Uncle Jack was not a blood relation (he was married to my father's oldest sibling) but I knew him all my life. I hadn't seen him in a couple of years, because he was living in a VA hospital, slowly regressing through his memories.
He died yesterday, and the funeral is Wednesday.
I remember his two oldest children, during the period immediately following my only blood uncle's death a couple of months ago, discussing Jack. The consensus was he wouldn't last much longer. Looks like they were right.
