Not a complaint, just a hopefully amusing story.

I learned about this group recently, when it was mentioned on an e-list I subscribe to. I applied, and was promptly turned down because my "profile" matched that of a spammer. I was told I'd have to reapply with a comment which proved I knew something about the group.

Since they won't let me join, how could I know anything about them?

What I actually did was reapply with the comment "Don't make me go all Buck Godot on you. :-)"
