Today's Stupid Driver Trick

On the way to work this morning I saw an SUV make an unsignaled left turn from a through lane, cutting off a bus. This was not an aberration; I saw at least two subsequent violations before it went roaring out of sight.

Those buses carry radios; my hope is that the driver called this in and the police stopped the idiot driver shortly thereafter.

Great choice in music. Thick as a Brick has been my favorite for a very long time.

I always hope for that too, but I never see any evidence that it actually happens.

I seldom see evidence that anything happens, but sometimes....

Derek and I were traveling to Connecticut through New York State this summer, and were passed by a person in a distinctive car going about twice our speed (it seemed; maybe it was really only 95 or so). We later saw that same car pulled over by the NYState police! We cheered!

Some years ago, while riding around with my uncle Doc,probably going 95+MPH,(in a Datsun Honeybee with a Chevy 305..one of his hobbies was car-building..)a motorcycle went around us as if we were standing still..this guy had to be going 150+mph-some motorcycles right off the factory floor,no modifications, will do nearly 200 mph.
Some people just don't want to slow down for anyone or anything. Driving fast isn't necessarily dangerous-depends on location and things, but it's the guy that thinks you can drive fast anywhere, anytime -those are are the scary ones.
I was given a radar detector once-didn't really have a need for it, but used it out of curiousity...lot of false triggering.
One of the strangest things I've seen is what appeared to be a drunken ambulance driver! The guy was all over the road. I would've called it in if I'd had a cell phone at the time...Scott
