Rice Cooker Help

My Oster rice cooker seems to have a permanent bollix. I plug it in and it
beeps and the display lights, but within a few minutes - whether I set the
timer and start cooking or not - it beeps again and switches off. At first I
could turn it back on, but now I have to unplug it for a while to reset it.

Naturally, this makes cooking in it unfeasible. So, I need a replacement. Does
anyone have a rice cooker/food steamer they recommend?

I use a microwave rice cooker that I got at Wal-Mart. I think it cost somewhere around $10, and you can also steam vegetables in it.

I like the Zojirushi model that we got at Uwajimaya. You can also use it as a steamer (c.f. above.) It wasn't very expensive either. Amazon has the one we have but charge too much for it. Hopefully you can find a better deal. But it works very well.

Next weekend take a look at the one we have. It's a Black & Decker.

I have a Zojirushi one. Really basic, but it works well.
