Antibiotic Woes

My doctor put me on Cephalexin Saturday. As usual, the side effects of that are worse than what it's curing. I'm running low on Immodium. However, I reach the end of that treatment in six more days (oog...) whereas the infection would last indefinitely without it.

Already called my boss and explained I'll be late this morning.

I was on a 10-day program of Cephalexin in June -- post-surgery. Somewhere around day 6 or 7, I began feeling like crap. By day 8, I was counting down the number of pills I had remaining -- every time I took a pill.

One suggestion: Eat some yogurt. But be sure that it has active cultures in it. The cephalexin is wiping out not only the infection, but also the good bacteria in your system. The yogurt will help replenish the latter.

I take Lactinex, a freeze-dried live bacterial culture. Same stuff that's in yogurt, but far more convenient.
