Ugly Bird!

Anyone else seen _The Giant Claw_? For the most part it's typical mid-Fifties giant monster fare. However, the special effects are ridiculous. Especially the actual monster, which is an ugly and poorly operated puppet. Reportedly, none of the actors knew what the thing actually looked like until the movie premiered.

My question, though, is the physics. They seem just plain wrong, even for the time. I'm not going to re-watch just to quote "Dr. Karol Noymann." The solution seems to come from a Thirties SF pulp.

Poor Jeff Morrow.

Yes I've seen it. I noticed that it was going to be shown late one Friday night on TCM, and I remembered seeing it on a late night fright TV show when I was a child. I told my housemate that we should watch it because it was so bad it was funny.

The physics are wrong. I don't think they even bothered to worry about real science at all back when they made the movie.

But who cares, it is still funny to watch. As my housemate just said "Sometimes you have to just let it go and laugh.".
