Snowpocalypse Plow

Okay. Snow problem. That is, there's no problem with shoveling the snow, but there's a thin layer of ice tightly bonded to the concrete.

Where the sun hits that's melting, but the steepest part of the drive is in deep shade and will remain so until about Noon tomorrow.

Considering the narrow gap for the (currently low on the horizon due to Winter) sun to shine down, and the fact that we had considerable cloud from around 11 to 12:30, I'm not sure that area would have melted anyway.

I have two tracks shoveled. If those melt, I'll seriously consider heading to Lexington. That, however, doesn't seem likely.

Why couldn't you put de-icing chemical on the tracks?

Don't like using that stuff. Remember, I used to work for the highway department. I know a bit about the different variants. Besides, the less harmful the stuff is the warmer ambient temps need to be for it to work right.
