Cultural Note

My Dad had a Ford Model A when I was a kid. Only, he and my Mother both called it an "A Model." So did several other family members. I never found out why.

Last night, KET had a program on an old Appalachian moonshiner. Who drove what he called an "A Model."

I still don't know why, but now I'm pretty sure it's a regional thing, instead of yet another family quirk.

Why not google up some old newspapers or magazines and see how this vehicle was marketed? Maybe this was Ford's terminology.
