Nappus Interruptus

I'm so mad I can hardly stand it. Woke with an irritated throat and upset tummy this morning. Tummy is lowly getting better and throat is okay after sucking some zinc, but I'm now really sleepy. Lay down to take a nap after lunch. Was dozing lightly, just starting to slide deeper, when the phone rang.


They hung up when they heard the recording on the answering machine, just as I was about to pick up.

Went back to bed and tried for half an hour, but couldn't get back to sleep.

Now my right sinuses are feeling irritated, like I'm getting another sinus infection. And I'm still sleepy, almost groggy.

Why would someone call, then hang up when they hear the answering machine?! Why bother to call if they won't bother to leave a message?!

2 words: "Politicians" and "salespeople". When we had Privacy Manager, that cut down on our Answering Machine (no number available on caller ID) hangups quite nearly 100%. (During the every-4-year political season, some would get through, and SOME of the salescritters actually didn't block their id -- but...)
