Giving Music the Business
More and more musicians - including big city orchestras - are avoiding major music labels by releasing albums on their own or through small companies.
I've read from multiple sources that this has a bigger impact than pirating on sales by major distributors. Especially since the major distributors are just about uniformly playing it safe and conservative with what they sell, leaving people hungry for something which isn't institutionalized.
I wonder how long we have before the RIAA is modified to make this illegal? :-(
