Reminiscences
When Mountain Dew first came on the market I was a pre-teen living in southeastern Kentucky, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Given the name, and the image of a hillbilly with a moonshine jug on the label, many people thought it was an alcoholic beverage.
It was, in fact, originally invented as a citrus mixer for drinks at a bar in a mountain resort in Tennessee.
