More Health Stuff

I seems like I mostly use this forum to talk about health problems. Sorry.

In this case, I have not felt healthy in weeks. I was on a 10 day course of antibiotics for a lower respiratory infection which the doctor said was borderline pneumonia. (What some people call walking pneumonia.) I'd probably been fighting this for days to weeks. Even after my lung cleared, I felt congested, so the doctor put me on prednisone for a few days. (Many people have been sick around here; I had to go in at 7:50AM to see the doctor and other medical facilities have also been busy.) That medication helped with the congestion and coughing, but it also did a number on my gut. I soldiered on.

Part of the problem is that my mother has been sick and expecting me to take care or her. Despite me pointing out that I was also sick. I had to take care of her; no substitutes. It was not an easy time for me. I couldn't really rest until she finally started feeling better. That was last night.

I went to bed early for a Friday night. I soon became chilled. I have a water bed, and I had to check and make sure the heater was working. it was; I was just chilled. I bundled up and managed to get to sleep.

I got up about every two hours to go to the euphemism. The first two times I was shivering and cold, but the next couple I seemed fine, and felt much better. I only got about eight and a half hours of sleep, because after the last trip I started coughing. This was definitely a productive cough, and I probably cleared out a lot of stuff I've been trying to cough up for days. I was still coughing stuff out when I gave up and got up.

I felt groggy and light-headed. I had a light but warm breakfast, then a hot and pretty good lunch (hot ham and cheese sammich). Afterwards I got in my recliner, pulled the cover up and slept for nearly another two hours, pretty much solid. Which is unusual for me.

I am slowly feeling better. I think a lot of the reason I have felt so poorly the past week+ is simply that I didn't have an opportunity to rest and recover. If I have anything to say about it, this weekend I'll finally get to rest. So far, that plan is working. However, I am still lacking in energy and light-headed, and may have a mild fever.

Hopefully, this is the last time I'll feel under the weather (and this has been bad weather to be under) for a good, long while.
