stickmaker | Software "Improvements"

I am writing a story in which a major character is named Arielle. I was looking for a biblical name, due to her father being French Catholic and a Hebrew scholar. The name Arielle is an anglicization of the Hebrew word for "lion of God." This was confirmed by both the Look Up in TextEdit and by Google.  

Today I wanted to check something about the origins of the name. All either of those resources would do this time was list a singer and her works. Buh?!

I am very upset that to get the same results I got before in Google for just "Arielle" I had to enter "Arielle Hebrew" this time. As for Text Edit, the Dictionary function is no longer even available in the popup window with the Look up and Search with Google functions! I don't know if this is due to a recent OS X update or what. Text Edit used to be pretty good, but it seems like with every update it either loses functions or has them made less useful. 

Writing software is supposed to make things easier for writers. Not promote commercial products!

Addendum: I just discovered that for some words the Dictionary *is* available. Weird...
