Excerpt from a science fiction novel in progress:
"Just pray you never have to use any of the 'lifeboat' rations," said Goose, with a melodramatic shudder. "Ate some on a dare, once. Never craved salsa so much in my life. They're not just bland, they suck the flavor out of everything else you've eaten for days before and after."
