It's a Conspiracy
Ugh. Somewhat short on sleep off and on for two weeks, maybe due to a low-level bug, or just the recent, multiple weather changes. Went to bed half an hour early last night, after taking 6mg of melatonin. Got to sleep quickly, slept well for a couple of hours, woke up, had trouble getting back to sleep. Turned the alarm off.
Was awakened from a sound sleep by the phone about half an hour later than I usually get up. Got to the nearest handset just in time to see the Caller ID before they hung up. Commercial. (I'm on the Do Not Call list; doesn't seem to help.) Went back to bed but couldn't get to sleep again, so just got up after a few.
Will report them, of course. Won't do any good. As always, the FCC will acknowledge by e-mail, thank me, then explain that because they're with the Gummint they don't have to do anything useful. (For the record, the phone display said it was URGENT ALERT (703) 348-6523 but there's no way to know if that's right or they're spoofing the caller ID.)
At least I do seem to have slept well for most of the night, and currently feel awake and alert. Hopefully, this will last until tonight.
