The third Three Stooges short was _Men in Black_, from 1934. It was nominated for an Academy Award, but didn't win. The reason it was called _Men in Black_ was that earlier that year, Clark Gable and Myrna Loy had starred in _Men in White_, which was also about doctors. I don't know if this explains anything about UFO conspiracies or the comic book and movie franchises, but this is where "Calling Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard..." comes from.
