Youthful Memory
My first exposure to Narnia was the Steve Hackett song, in 1978. (See http://narniafans.com/music/insp_song_sh.php for the lyrics.) I'd heard of C. S. Lewis, but for his Prelandria (SP?) series.
My second exposure was a small watercolor in a gaming store, illustrating one of the girls (Lucy?) with Aslan. It had a tag on the back explaining what it was from.
That was what finally led me to seek out the novels. And the lyrics of the song suddenly made a lot more sense. :-)
